Parenting a teenager can feel like a whole new job.
One day your teen is talking to you about everything. The next, you’re getting one-word answers, closed doors, and eye rolls—and wondering what happened to the child who used to actually want your advice.
You’re not the only parent trying to figure this out.
Our Parents of Teens Support Group is a therapist-led virtual group for parents who want support navigating the emotional, relational, and everyday challenges of raising a teenager.
Whether you’re dealing with increased conflict, big emotions, anxiety, changing family dynamics, or simply trying to figure out how to stay close while giving your teen more independence, this group provides a supportive place to talk about it.
There is no judgment and no expectation that you have parenting figured out.
Sometimes it simply helps to be in a room with other parents who understand.
What We’ll Talk About
Together, we’ll explore:
- Understanding teen behavior, emotions, and development
- Managing your own stress and emotional reactions as a parent
- Communicating with a teenager who doesn’t always want to communicate
- Reducing conflict and power struggles
- Supporting independence without losing connection
- Setting healthy boundaries and expectations
- Knowing when your teen needs space—and when they may need more support
- Staying connected as your relationship with your child changes
- Taking care of yourself while caring for your teenager
And yes, there will be room to laugh about some of it too.
Supporting Your Teen Without Losing Yourself
The teenage years aren’t only a transition for adolescents. They’re a transition for parents, too.
Your role is changing. Your teen naturally wants more privacy, autonomy, and independence, while you are still responsible for helping keep them safe and guiding them toward adulthood.
That push and pull can be exhausting.
Parents sometimes respond by holding on tighter. Others back away because every conversation seems to turn into an argument. Neither extreme necessarily creates the connection parents and teens are looking for.
Our group will help parents explore ways to remain emotionally available and connected while allowing teenagers the independence they need to grow.
Who Is This Parent Support Group For?
This group may be especially helpful if you find yourself thinking:
“Why won’t my teenager talk to me anymore?”
“Everything I say seems to annoy them.”
“I don’t know whether I should step in or back off.”
“I’m worried about my teen, but I don’t want to overreact.”
“We keep having the same arguments.”
“Am I doing this right?”
You don’t need to be experiencing a family crisis to benefit from support.
This group is also for parents who simply want to better understand their teenager, strengthen their relationship, and feel more confident navigating adolescence.
Connect With Parents Who Get It
Parenting can feel surprisingly isolating, particularly when you’re worried about your child.
This group offers a warm, confidential and judgment-free environment where parents can share experiences, learn from therapists and one another, and realize that many of the challenges happening in their homes are happening in other homes too.
Come connect with other parents who are figuring it out—one eye roll at a time.
