“People only seriously consider change when they feel accepted for exactly who they are.”- Carl Rogers
Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or navigating relationships and life transitions? Do you feel overwhelmed by life’s challenges or are seeking to better understand yourself and live authentically? Are you seeking a place to grow and heal? Therapy is a safe space where these concerns can be explored and addressed.
I believe every person has the potential to rediscover themselves, achieve their full potential, and create a life that feels meaningful and authentic. My role as a therapist is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where you feel empowered to explore your emotions, challenges, and aspirations. Using a blend of approaches tailored to your unique needs, I draw from humanistic therapy to emphasize your strengths and lived experiences. I integrate techniques from attachment theory, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, mindfulness, Gestalt therapy, and internal family systems to create a holistic, personalized approach to healing and growth.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Washington, DC, a Nationally Certified Counselor, and a member of the American Counseling Association, I have over eight years of experience working with children, adults, and families in the DC metro area. My experience includes working in the community providing therapy and crisis support, working as a social worker at PIW, and years of experience providing therapy to students in DCPS & DCPCS schools. My work centers on creating a space where every individual feels seen, heard, and valued. I am a culturally responsive and LGBTQ+ affirming therapist, committed to meeting clients where they are and helping them move toward a more fulfilling life.
Populations and Therapeutic Approach:
I also specialize in working with children and teens, helping them navigate challenges such as attention difficulties, depression, anger, trauma, anxiety, family changes, self-esteem, and school or social stressors. I use play therapy alongside evidence-based approaches to create a safe, engaging environment where they can express themselves, especially when words are hard to find. My goal is to support their emotional well-being, foster resilience, and build stronger connections at home and in their community.
Your path to healing and growth starts with one step. Reach out today to schedule a consultation, and let’s work together to build a life that aligns with your values and aspirations.
I support adults in navigating a variety of challenges, including relationship issues, substance use, family conflict, depression, anxiety, and life transitions. My experience spans diverse settings, including work as an outpatient therapist, recovery therapist, inpatient coordinator, and within a private practice. This broad background allows me to adapt my approach to meet clients’ unique needs and guide them toward meaningful growth and healing.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in humanistic theory but also draws from attachment theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, and elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I help clients explore the influence of past relationships and experiences while developing practical tools to manage current struggles. I incorporate mindfulness practices to enhance self-awareness and emotional regulation, empowering clients to remain grounded and present. I always work towards fostering a safe space for healing, self-discovery, and meaningful change.”
