Aimie Thibeau, MA

Teens & Adults

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or facing difficult challenges, I’m here to help. Whether it’s
anxiety, depression, trauma, family dynamics, or identity challenges, I offer support with respect,
empathy, and dedication to your unique journey. My goal is to provide a safe space to process
emotions, gain clarity, and build healthier coping strategies. Healing happens through
connection, not isolation. Together, we can uncover what’s holding you back and help you move
forward with confidence, resilience, and the strength already within you.

Theoretical Approach:

I take a systemic, relational, and multicultural approach, understanding how relationships,
family, and societal factors shape our experiences. I believe mental health challenges often
stem from unmet relational needs as well as the effects of historical and familial contexts across
generations. I strive to honor each client as the expert of their own story, recognizing how past,
present, and future intersect. My approach is trauma-informed, culturally competent, and
grounded in social justice. I strive to provide a safe, inclusive space, committed to supporting
clients in a non-judgmental and non-pathologizing way. It takes immense courage to make
changes and I would be honored to support you in that path to healing and growth.

Specialty:

I am passionate about supporting Asian American individuals and children of immigrant
communities. I acknowledge the unique experiences and challenges faced by those navigating
bicultural identities, intergenerational expectations, and the emotional complexity that can arise
from balancing the values of one’s heritage culture with those of the dominant culture—often
leading to feelings of guilt, confusion, or not fully belonging in either world.

About Me:

I hold a BA from the University of Washington in Asian American Studies. I also hold a
MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Antioch University and have completed a certificate
in Trauma Counseling. As a bicultural individual, child of immigrants, mother, and military
spouse, my experiences inform how I perceive and understand the world. I have a deep appreciation for diverse backgrounds and cultural complexities and value the unique experiences of each client.
